Making the Massachusetts State Auditor's Office a National Leader on Climate
Massachusetts residents deserve a state government that is working efficiently and effectively to reduce pollution and emissions, to prepare the Commonwealth for the inevitable impacts of climate change, and to ensure that resources are delivered to the neighborhoods and residents that already bear the brunt of pollution and more severe weather. As State Auditor, Chris Dempsey will incorporate a climate and environmental justice lens into audits of key state agencies and programs. By including representatives of environmental-justice communities in the auditing review process, the Auditor’s Office will ensure that recommendations incorporate the voices of those most impacted by pollution and climate change.
While we came up short in this race, I am proud of what we have accomplished, building a grassroots campaign across the state with more than 2,400 individual contributors, a top-notch staff, the best fundraising and support team you could ask for, friends and family who always had my back, and hundreds of volunteers. I believe in a bright future for our Commonwealth and look forward to finding additional opportunities to contribute, hopefully by continuing to work side-by-side with so many of you.
